Key Responsibilities

Comfortable demonstrating application and presenting corporate pitch and an understanding of sales process and methodology

Understanding of Implementation process and services based deliverables, such as Test Scripts, Documentation, Test Environments, End Users Testing and Rollouts, End User Training and Adoption aids would be desirable.

Our client, an IT company are looking for an experienced Sales Consultant with a proven track record of meeting targets to join their team.  You will be working within a sales team that is being re-engineered and are now seeking two highly motivated Sales Consultants who can find out customer requirements and sell benefits to win confidence over the phone and face to face. You will be developing excellent working relationships with clients and generating leads to create new business opportunities and Contracts.  Reporting to the Commercial Director and working alongside him, you will be selling IT services, including, pre-pay and fixed price annual support contracts. The objective is to win new customers from the customer database and prospecting.

 

Required Skills & Responsibilities:

 

You will have experience in Internal or External sales and:

A proactive approach to client/project management with proven experience in similar role

Capable of generating own leads

Cold calling and booking appointments to discuss IT Service needs

Building prospect pipeline

Attending meetings /managing diary efficiently

Managing revenue / new customer pipeline

Support team colleagues and ethos

 

As a Sales specialist in IT, you will be self-motivated and driven to work in a small sales team, however support is provided by way of use of the company database, marketing agency provided data, other experienced members of sales team, Commercial Director, soft marketing (website / local PR)

 

Minimum Requirements

 

At least 2 years in IT sales (VAR or IT Service Support Company) – Internal or External

Driving licence and own car

Proven track record in achieving new business sales targets (account management background less appealing)

IT Internal sales only, must be demonstrable and motivated to go on client visits to present value proposition etc.

Solutions / Services selling experience ideal

SME customer/prospect focus from 2-200 users ideal

THE TEAM

THE ROLE
Developing relationships with Companies based in the South-East, working closely with other team members, sharing the common goal.
 
To take responsibility for the full sales life cycle:
 
·         Identification of new prospects, using CRM system, sales leads from marketing campaigns, and other business research activities.
·         Contacting Customers initially by phone, establishing key decision makers.
·         Making and attending business meetings with decision makers.
·         Working with the customer in consultation to establish current IT infrastructure, Hardware and Software.
·         Recommending appropriate products and services.
·         Negotiating and closing the sales.
·         After sales service calls.
·         Business Development and contract renewals.

You will target 3 main client types; M+E Consultants, Electrical Contractors, and End Users (such as schools, hospitals, factories etc.). You will be developing new business opportunities where the sales process can be lengthy and order / project values will be high.

This is a senior level appointment and as such it is essential that you have worked at a similar level dealing with £multi-million turnover organisations. Also essential is sales experience within an electrical or energy management environment. You will be able to work autonomously and have strong awareness within the construction market allowing you to source business opportunities quickly.
