It is now more important than ever to have an attractive CV when applying for sales orientated roles as there has been a significant rise in people expressing an interest in the sales industry.
It has been reported that since 2009, over half of all call centre managers received a high increase in job applications from people looking to work in sales. This increase is especially evident in graduates with figures from the Top 50 Call Centres for Customer Service stating that 35% of workers are graduates, which is in fact a 10% rise from the year before.

Are you exceptionally suited to this sales job?
For any of you that are regulars on Twitter, you may have seen some recent commotion over some comments made by Alastair Campbell at a recent event hosted by executive recruitment firm McSherry Brown.
Alastair had been asked by the firm’s founder Claire-Louise McSherry, to select twelve people he considered to be exceptional and why. Alastair made his selection from politics, sports, charity and even royalty, each being selected because of certain characteristics that made them exceptional.

CIM Launches Sales Leadership Alliance
Following months of speculation, the sales sector’s worst-kept secret is out of the bag: the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) formally announced its latest venture into the world of selling today
Described as an ‘exclusive fellowship of leading sales professionals’, the Sales Leadership Alliance was launched at the Sales Performance Association (formerly the Sales Training Association) conference.
CIM chief executive Rod Wilkes says: ‘Having been a salesman for many of my formative years, I am aware of how important good professional selling is to the wealth creation of the UK. At the Chartered Institute of Marketing, we believe that the sales community has never enjoyed the standing that its importance to both the national economy and to individual organisations should warrant.’
